Lunch: Banh Mi from Nicky’s. One pork chop ($5.50, outer left and right) and one chicken ($5,center); both “spicy” (w jalepenos and sriracha). Cheap and delicious!

Cafeteria
Went to Cafeteria last night for dinner after a multi-year hiatus. Sadly, nothing has changed… food is so-so and the service was quite subpar. It was for a birthday party of 7 people and we were seated downstairs because the upstairs couldn’t handle a party that big ( questionable ). The place is kinda cool looking upstairs, but downstairs is a little bland. There is, however, a separate bar downstairs, which is nice.
Apps:
Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Garlic Crostini - pretty good, super garlicky.
Dates wrapped in Bacon - good, hard to mess this one up
Mac and Cheese Spring Roll - decent, a bit dry… needed heavy saucing w the bechamel-based cheese sauce they provided.
Entree:
Mahi Mahi, served with a spicy guacamole-like base - slight fishy taste but overall was good, not great.
Salmon with Sweet Potatoes - this was actually really good, I had a few bites of my friend’s dish.
Overall, we had a fun time solely because it was a fun group of people; not because of the dining experience. I wouldn’t go there again and I don’t recommend it, or its sister resto, Delicatessen. While both have substantial potential, they simply don’t deliver.
